News, views and gossip....

We'd really like to start our first edition of Binnacle News with some thanks!  Thank you to all of our listed authors for taking that leap of faith and placing your books here for promotion and we would particularly like to thank our first Book of The Month author Karl Wiggins (Cab Driver) for wearing the BOTM author hat so well for us.  Also several professionals in the publishing world have been very kind to us and offered all manner of help and hints along the way, they would blush if I mentioned them, but you know who you are!

Our Book of The Month for June will be The Rainbow Man and Other Stories by David Gardiner and we are delighted to say that having read the book, David kindly sent us a copy, we will be reviewing it as part of our BOTM feature.

As many of you will know, this site is very new and we are rather pleased to say that since May 1st 2004, we have had touching 1700 hits!  Thanks again to all concerned, we could not have done it without you.

NEW! As if our listed authors are not busy enough already!  But some of them found time to grant us a cyber-audience and the resulting Ten Second Interview feature is going to prove to be something of a regular.  Periodically, we hope to bring you a glimpse-ette into the minds of selected authors; our 'maiden' batch of authors are: Simon Murphy, Brenda Townsend Hall and D.A De Lacy.

Attention Authors!

The Secret Diary of a Self Publisher
We would like to invite any of our listed authors to write a short article (no real ceiling on the word count) on their own Self-Publishing experience, be it good, bad or hair-raising.  We ask that it be witty, informative and most of all real.  In addition, traditionally published writers are also invited to write a piece on how they finally made it. Naturally, we would reserve the right to edit the piece of we felt it might end up getting us sued, but if you have something to share with us and you'd enjoy writing it, let us know at deborah@binnaclepress.com
